Press Release No. (002) - 12/03/2025
Announcement of the Resumption of Sanctions on Vessels Linked to the Israeli Occupation Entity
Due to the Israeli usurper entity’s failure to fully implement all stages of the ceasefire agreement and to cease its aggression against the Gaza Strip, which began on the morning of Sunday, January 19, 2025, and its procrastination in fulfilling its obligations - especially those related to the humanitarian aspects - while continuing to close the crossings and prevent the entry of aid, food and medicine into the Gaza Strip. The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced the following:
First: Resuming the ban on the passage of all Israeli vessels in the designated operational area in both Red and Arabian Seas, as well as Bab al-Mandeb strait and the Gulf of Aden.
Second: This ban shall take effect immediately upon the issuance of this statement.
Third: Any Israeli vessel attempting to violate this ban will be subject to military targeting in the declared operational area.
Fourth: This ban will remain in effect until the crossings to the Gaza Strip are reopened and humanitarian aid, including food and medical supplies, is allowed to enter.
Therefore, vessels that are wholly owned by Israeli individuals or entities, and/or sailing the Israeli flag, are prohibited from transiting through the Red Sea, the Arabian Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Gulf of Aden, starting at 11:55 PM on March 11, 2025, Yemen Standard Time (Yemen Time, UTC+3), which is equivalent to 08:55 PM UTC.
We hope it is understood that the actions taken by the Yemeni Armed Forces through these sanctions stem from a deep sense of religious, humanitarian, and moral responsibility toward the oppressed Palestinian people and aim to pressure the Israeli usurper entity to reopen the crossings to the Gaza Strip and allow the entry of aid, including food and medical supplies.
